Ce groupe composé de cinq jeunes aux tendances pop-rock viendront vous faire découvrir le temps d'une soirée leurs univers plutôt... original.

Totox came out of the desert, nobody really knows what lies beyond those never-ending sands. He came to Kukenstra seemingly ignorant to the ways of the corrupt city. In a dirty back street bar situated in the industrial area run by a monkey called Sir Jiggles, he soon meets the peculiar Jakobo. Together they spiral into a hazy era of drugs and mucky money. The days roll into one seamless blur, they live only in the search of new sensation. Nevertheless this is not a life-style that can be maintained under the regime of the evil dictator Keku.

They become victims to the powerful whim of a self-proclaimed God. At the bottom of their struggle they meet the mysterious Ingoof who has a story as woeful as their own. Like stray dogs they crawl back into the sewers of Kukenstra with their minds set on revenge and revolution. Planning their moves from Jiggles' bar, they are put into contact with a wealthy businessman Ron Black who is willing to finance their efforts.

They march upon Keku and finally take him down, casting his enormous, rotted body from the cliffs of the Pink Castle within view of the whole of the city. Within days his regime decays into dust. The people of Kukenstra are finally liberated.

The four comrades make the Pink Castle their home. Here they find a strange being; half man half beast that they name Dave Haze. Totox instantly feels a link with the man, and sympathizes with him when he tells them of how he was kept locked in a cupboard for years upon years, and only taken out when Keku wished to conduct horrific scientific experiments upon him.

The revolution is over, and the reign of the Wankas begins. This whole story is recounted in detail in the first book on Wankas' history, soon to be made available as soon as Roy (the band's photographer and biographer) finishes writing it!

With Totox in power, the group can resume their life of psychological inadequacy. Reeling from the things they have accomplished, they abandon drugs in search of higher contentment. They peel away their outer shells, and look deep inside themselves, each other, and the millions of people now living happily in the city below them.

However, how can leaders so unwary of opposition last? For now power is theirs, all is well in Kukenstra, but with the economy crumbling, what will the future hold?

Totox, Jakobo, Ingoof, Ron and Dave are of course all musicians. Throughout their adventures they strive together to translate the events, their feelings and their observations into music. The music of Wankas is a group of friends' view upon a strange, wonderful, terrible world.

Tambour Battant

Enfants du Hip Hop, de l'Electro, et du Rock, Tambour Battant est de cette génération de musiciens, électroniques ou non, qui fait tomber les cloisons entre les styles.

Nourris a la bass music mais dépourvus d'oeillieres, Ben et Chico n'ont de cesse de scruter l'horizon musical et d'y prendre le meilleur de chaque genre. Combinant expérimentation et efficacité, ils lorgnent désormais sur la fidget house, le dubstep ou le kuduro, sans jamais verser dans la pale copie de maitre. De ces influences multiples, ils tirent un son personnel, inimitable, synthèse explosive des musiques électroniques des années 2000.
Un mélange des genres qui fait des merveilles en live. Découvertes du Printemps de Bourges 2009, ils enchainent les dates aux quatre coins de la France , laissant derrière eux un public exsangue, épuisé, mais extatique. Des performances hybrides, entre concert rock et set club, ou ils tirent le meilleur des nouvelles technologies, explorant toutes les interfaces disponibles, suant sang et eau sur leurs contrôleurs, pads, effets et autres batteries électroniques, loin, très loin du cliché du musicien électronique impassible derrière son écran.

FM Laeti

HEURE DE PASSAGE : 20h30

Entre jazz et soul, pop et rock, musique africaine et biguine, des Caraïbes au Grand Nord américain, FM LÆTI a longuement voyagé. La chanteuse et son groupe ont avalé des milliers de kilomètres et de sons divers qu’ils transcendent dans cet album solaire avec une voix éclatante, légère ou grave, toujours
émouvante. Sur des compositions et des rythmes réminiscents du rock et de la soul-pop des années 70. C’est It will all come around. C’est FM LÆTI. Et c’est un bonheur.

L’aventure commence en 1997 à Tours... As De Trêfle c’est avant tout plus de 10 ans d’existence et plus de 700 concerts donnés à travers la France et l’Europe. As De Trêfle c’est également 3 albums vendus au total à 60 000 exemplaires dont le DVD live “Merci, bonsoir”, et leur dernier album “Houlala” a dépassé les 15 000 ventes.

Des textes teintés d'humour, des paroles vite ancrées dans la tête et un rythme qui ne faiblit jamais... Voilà des ingrédients pour transformer un public motivé en public surboosté. Le violon omniprésent et leur prédilection pour les instruments acoustiques les classent les dans la grande famille qui se situe entre rock et chanson. Mais il faut ajouter à cette chanson rock un humour grinçant et une irrésistible énergie communicative qui laissent le public pantelant... heureux !

UNE DIFFÉRENCE QUI NE LAISSE PAS INDIFFÈRENT
Milk Coffee and Sugar (aka MC’s), c’est un voyage musical subtil, interpellant, doux et amer, au pays des mots et surtout au service du hip-hop. Entre rêves et discours conscient, les deux MC’s du groupe, Gaël Faye et Edgar Sekloka, arpentent depuis plus de 5 ans les scènes hip-hop et slam. Ils y sont reconnus pour la qualité de leur plume et l’originalité de leur musique : des sonorités jazz/soul, qui amènent souvent à les qualifier d’héritiers de The Roots ou encore de Q-Tip. Poétiser le quotidien pour déserter les perspectives d’un monde balisé, c’est là tout le sens que ce groupe donne à sa musique. Ainsi, face à la pensée unique, à la logique marchande, au néo-colonialisme, aux abdications quotidiennes et aux renoncements en tous genres, ils chantent avec une classe exaltée leur résistance et leurs rêves.
